Genuine Bond

Photographer Richard Renaldi takes random people he meets on the street of New York City and asks them to pose in pictures together as if they were family members, friends or lovers.

The subjects are only asked to look like they are showing a brief amount of affection, but the facial expressions and body language within the photos make it seem like these strangers not only know each other, but also share some sort of genuine bond.

Interesting idea, and some very odd things going on with the people in the photos

Quite remarkable and it takes us back to a theme we've discussed before which is the power of a photograph to deceive. And yet, as the testimonials in the video suggest, there is truth in these images. It really is lovely in my opinion.

Thanks for posting it Chris.

What an interesting idea. I wonder if some people would just look at the elements that make sense to them, discard the others and create the meaning they feel most comfortable with. It's easy to just assume these people know each other and assume the things that suggest they don't are accidental.
