Experimenting with Corel Painter I was able to turn this

Does anyone else use Corel Painter & have any suggestions or examples?

I don't use the Corel thing Keith so I can't comment really on the software or what it can do. However, I like the original shot very much and although I think I can see what you are trying to achieve in the 2nd one, to my eye it looks a touch over done. Is it possible to tone back effect a little such that you enhance the bleakness of the original without having it look too much like a white mask?

i really like the first one. maybe try using a levels/curves adjustment to make the midtones brighter. if you have photoshop and nik color efex check out their fog filter.

I too like the effect but feel it's a bit strong. Maybe changing the opacity over a white layer might help.

I like it - It would make a great stock backdrop image for example - gives a wonderful cold winter feel
