Good bye Sight 2 Sound and my studio

Hamish Gill

Tech Support (and Marketing)
I found out today that my old place of work Sight 2 Sound has as of yesterday closed down!
It's been there for over 25 years ...
Another victim of the times!

This also means that my photography studio which was in the same building is also gone ...
So today instead of working I had to spend the afternoon carrying all my stuff back to the office!
Not so much fun with what seems to be a cracked rib ...

But anyway, enough of my moaning!
It's a bit of an end of an era really, good few people out of a job too
Great shame if you ask me!

It's the second shop I have had a space above that's gone bust ...
I'm cursed!
We are looking at getting a bigger office hopefully soon, I've put my request in for a studio space! ;)

Antics is still open... For now at least...
We can still use te studio space Tom...
I'm just not leaving any kit there or concidering useable for my job...

That is sad news, only visited it once and it was a proper shop, likes shops should be.

Hope you find some studio space.

P.S. was there a box of my cables anywhere  , I left some ages ago.. not been back to Worcestershire for ages.

There was, although I did **** my pants with worry thinking the administrators would have taken it!
I'd completely forgotten it was there Mark!!
Will you ring tomorrow of you think to I need to give you some cash and I have a few things I wanted to talk to you about ... Your on my list but things get in the way... If you ring me I'll have to talk to you ;)

GUTTED!!!! sorry to hear the bad news.. and my sympathy goes out to those affected...
I Loved that shop! bad times... bad times :(

Deepest sympathies. Guess I won't get to pick up the 17mm next time I'm up. It's a shame what is happening to our high streets.

:(

Did you have any idea Hamish, or was it a suprise to all?

!!!!!! Crazy! So it was a matter of, 'good morning sir, I'll have the keys to the store, please go home... Thank you' ?
That's so not far for those who have now got to seek for a job in what's already a difficult time.
What's happened to all the stock?

That is a real bummer Hamish, it really is. I blame the manufacturers in part, they have the power to enforce the selling price and withdraw support from anyone who undersells and doesn't give the customer excellent advice and support. Allowing internet traders to undercut shops devalues their products IMO.

I just blame the government .. Had a brief chat with the now ex md today ... I think he blames the government!
It's easy to blame them ...
