We had a bit of baby free time today ... so of course we went to the pub!
Ive just bought a Sony NEX5n to mount my m and ltm but the adapter hasn't turned up yet so this was taken with the 18-55 kit lens ... its a damn fine lens for a kit lens by the looks of it (despite a stack of distortion).
Cant wait to get the leica summarit on this sensor!!
Anyway, here is the shot :)

Thanks Rob ... she has the oddest eyes I have ever know, they have brown, blue, hazel even yellow and green bits as well as black freckle like spots ... I have meant to take a shot of one for a while, but shes never keen

weird eh?

What a wonderfully thoughtful pose and, as Rob says, beautiful eyes and one is quite drawn to them. And the composition is just super - I do like portraits where the subject is looking out of the frame.

And I'm sure she was having a wonderful time really! ;)

I think you will really like it. Manual focus is much faster than original 5 with 5N touch screen because even with legacy glass just touch screen to where want focus then use focus peaking.
Nex liveview is so nice, pretty much can get photo to look however you want without pp.
Along with olympus pens nex have the mose useful liveview.
(eg. X100, XP1, XE1 although have liveview, the liveview doesnt change when aperture, shutter is changed
that's why in Chris's metering article needed a spot light meter, with pens & nex not needed).

She's looking a bit distant Hamish - missing the young'un?

I'd crop the menu card on the right and leave it at that Hamish - maybe try a B&W version as Hannah has lovely skin tone in this color version, which might translate well to B&W.

Sony looking mighty fine BTW

Very nice Hamish and just a word of advice, best not to use the word weird to describe anything to do with your misses. Never goes well, you may not even realise today but it will come out later on, possibly years from now.

She hates having her photo taken so she tends to look a little morose when I do convince her ... I like to think it adds to the "depth" of the photo

yeah, I'm used to being away from Connie, Hannah really isn't ... She was the main subject of conversation ;)
i tried black and white, it just looked a little flat and I couldn't seem to fix it

hahaha, I have told her many times she has wired eyes ... She is a bit of a weirdo so it sorta suits her :)

im really excited about the nex5n, I do think it is going to work well for me with a lot of lenses I have wanted to use on digital cameras ... The focus peaking is a wonderful thing! I'm going to do a bit of a write up on the camera when some of the lens adapters I have ordered show up!
one day sony will make a ff short flange back camera ... I may sell my soul when that happens ;)

time will tell how quick I am with this ... But playing with the focus peeking today I'm guessing its not going to be a major issue!
