Hello from a rather wet and windy Manchester!

Not sure who it was who said 'the photograph is in your eye, the camera just lets every one else see it'...............oh I think it might have been me...............or I may have read it somewhere once, doesn't matter really..............but seriously though, I paint and draw and have sold work, does that make me an artist? I'm not sure, I think the passion to learn, to accept criticism and build on that and to accept that there will always be someone better than you somewhere and; as a subjective 'artform' not everyone we come across will like or pay for what we do..........I think even the 'TOP' photographers would say something similar. It only takes one person in the right place to 'like' what you do and bingo! many who have worked hard and produce some really good stuff never make it but that doesn't make them any less a photographer than those on here or indeed those that have. IMO

I get annoyed when looking at professional photographers who I believe aren't very good, but, not from a quality level but from the idea that they have shown the get up and go to become professional and I haven't done it yet.

I think alot of that comes form confidence in ones own ability.....I suffer badly from it.........we maybe need to get some selfbelief tablets :)

I'm not sure if that's what it is Kev, being a Dj as well i'm taught to be almost arrogant in my own abilities... it's the 'buying' public i have no belief in lolol

I suppose all I could think on the way home from taking the photo's down to the competition this morning was what if there not good enough the other thing I found awkward this morning was putting a price on the prints!!
