Hello from the high seas

Although home is Shropshire I am currently working on my ship half way across the Atlantic. I have some internet conectivity on my ship so found this site very interesting. I have a selection of my film and digital cameras with me and will snap away once we reach somewhere with a view other than a vast expanse of blue sea.
I have been taking photographs since I was at college in the 1970's and still use a lot of film including some vintage machines I have refirbished. Its nice to see so many people still tinkering away with film.
I use anything i can get my hands on to get an image and my loft at home is growning under the weight of all my prints and negs.
I am looking forward to getting some inspiration from everyone here.

Hi Malcolm. Welcome to the site. It really is amazing to think of you out there, a little dot in a vast ocean, yet still communicating with us as if you were next door. Very much looking forward to your contributions!

Welcome aboard!!
I've been grinning like a little child thinking about saying that all the way home from work!
Tell the forum if you can about your ship and what you do... Honestly, I'm so excited to have someone aboard (there it is again, it's te joke that keeps on giving ;)) that is in the position you are in! I'm really looking forward to seeing some photos!
Must get my bambino bathed and to bed now ... But I'll b back with my sence of humor in a bit ;)

Welcome to RPF Malcolm. I'm sure you are going to enjoy the place and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing images from both far-flung places and the sea!! Or even the ship. And a loft groaning under the weight of negatives sounds like it needs liberating - or at least scanning!! So again, welcome.

Ahoy there Malcolm! :D

Hamish beat me to the ideal punchline, so this was the best I could muster.

Internet from the middle of the ocean - that's technology for you - amazing

Love to hear and see more about your travels - and welcome to the forum
