Help Needed - Camera Stopped Choosing Raw

I'm sure I've done something stupid somewhere, somehow. I've been shooting Fine jpegs of late, and thought I'd try some RAW shots, so opened the menu in the Fuji XE1.

Only Fine and Normal are highlighted, all the others greyed out - Fine&Raw, Normal&Raw, and Raw. I can't choose Raw.

Any ideas?

Well, I just checked it, and I can get raw + ae bracketing. So why couldn't I choose raw before, and changing back to single shots allowed me to?

Is it something to do with bracketing shots and extended dynamic range? I think your Fuji has that capability, it takes 3 bracketed exposures and then combines them into a singe HDR image which is output as a Jpeg. This is not the same as bracketing shots as in that case they are not combine and remain discrete.

if you're in iso bracket, film simulation bracket, dynamic range bracket, panoramic or video drive modes you can't shoot raw. you can only shoot raw on the first three options, so if you were in another .

i'm not sure if the fujis will output an hdr directly, i think you do that in camera, but you would use one of the bracketing modes for that. and if you want to shoot raw for hdr you will have to be auto exposure bracketing drive mode. i think fuji opted for the dynamic range setting rather than hdr.

I was going back and forth with different bracketing, then noticed I couldn't shoot raw. So I must have been in iso, I think. All clear now. I assume it's the same on the X-Pro1?
