Sad news indeed. A true legend.

My favourite blues player. Very sad, but not unexpected, given the announcement a couple of weeks ago that he was in a hospice. A life well lived. I had a 14-year old girl student today who had never heard of him. So I showed her a few videos of him online, then taught her how to play The Thrill Is Gone. She is now a fan.

Never a big fan myself (his form of the Blues being typically less traditional than I like) but sad news nonetheless. Sorry to see he's gone.

Sad news indeed. I never really 'got' his stuff to be honest - A little tame for my bluesy taste - but the list of people he influenced speaks for itself.
