I think showing the two sides side-by-side and aligned is a great idea, Pete. I like this very much. What tree is it from?

Oak. It is the same leaf I 'posted' last night. 'Tis a big leaf, about 9" tip to toe!

I need to refine the way I align them I think and play a bit more but I think it has promise.

It would seem to me that this has promise for botanists or teachers of botany who wish to show examples of their specimens in detail. (I'm guessin'!)

Thanks both. Yes, the leaf was shot lit from the front and from behind. One was then flipped and they were combined as a mirrored pair in PS.

Pete, I don't think your going to understand how much I like this image!! I think this is such a brilliant idea and works immensely well. There is never a disappointment with any of your work ......... And this proves it.

What a great idea. Weird how it looks symmetrical and not quite symmetrical at the same time. When you look close it all looks aligned but when you pull back it doesn't.

I think you have describe it perfectly Paul. Usually differences are revealed when you looks closer but this works the other way round.
