Does anyone have any plans for any photography themed holidays this year ??

I have just booked a week in London end of July for me & the nephew, looking forward to that, i not telling him until a few days before we go hahaha

Also think i need somewhere warm & cheap September ish, thinking Greece or Egypt maybe as i have never been to either YET

greece or egypt sound pretty cool, only other countries i've been to are ireland and canada (which is just a cooler extension of american tbh).

if i can get off work this year i'm going out west for photos in september/october. wyoming and idaho definitely. might hit california or colorado or montana too. haven't worked out the details yet. and depends on how long i can get off work.

Daz - Egypt is very cool - worth a punt, and the locals are friendly, but they do hassle you a little for cash

If you do go, make sure you have a list of your camera kit serial numbers notarized, and take it with you on the trip.

The Egyptians have a nice trick of trying to tax you for camera equipment 'purchases' as you leave their nice country - another way of getting cash from you. They ask you to prove you didn't just buy that camera/lens on holiday!

So having a list of serial numbers that's been notarized in Blighty puts a stop to all that nonsense.

Giza/Cairo and Karnak/Valley of the Kings would be the must see locations.

Abu Simbel if you have time/money - as it's way up country and you need to do an internal flight to get there/back - but it is amazing.

Probably a cheap holiday at the moment I'm guessing - when I was there the army seemed to be mostly 16 year olds with machine guns!

Cheers Chris, I know all about money talks with locals Marrakech was just the same, it Lots of fun and a challenge :-)

Wasn't aware about camera malarky, cheers for info on serial numbers :-)

I'm very short sighted when it comes to time off, when I have any i'm in the highlands and there is nowhere on earth i'd rather be. This year i'm gonna be busy in the summer months with my exhibition thingy

Going to London this weekend for mine and Hannah's anniversary ... No go on the major photo taking, but my gf1 is going to fat a good few rolls of xp2 through it I hope.

then in June I have a stag do in Somerset ... Going to I wondering then!

also in June I'm going to the dodgy backwater **** hole in Wales somewhere near Barmouth ... ... That a good week of photos :)

Just had a weekend in South Wales and Saturday we're off to St Ives in Cornwall for a week!

Defo gonna fat me some rolls! Innit!

No specific photo hol's but we're off to Weymouth for a week in June, then a week in Pembroke in September and the camera will be with me;).

When the holidays come up I am normally so sick of travelling I don't want to go anywhere. Unfortunately the family don't feel the same as it is the only chance they get to go somewhere. So I suffer another early morning and a day of travel. At least I don't have to wear a suit in 45 degree heat (or -30 for that matter).

We have a few holidays lined up this year. We try to do 1 week abroad and 1 week in the UK somewhere rural. I get very board just sitting by a pool so usually I end up going for long walks with the camera. For the UK holidays we tend to go somewhere everyday so load to opportunities to take photographs.

Sister and her family heading our way from Blighty in the summer - so will be doing the rounds of Disney, Seaworld, Zoo, beach, shopping etc for two weeks.

I can already see the need to purchase an old film camera to cover some of this visit.... who knew! :D

The guy selling the scruffy Blad kit did have a Toyo up for sale Pete...

You're evil Pete! :D
