Home Away from Home

I Should say this is MY home away from home. But it's just a shot of my tent n a typical sort of place that i might make camp. This light weight beauty has kept me dry and warm this summer on several wilderness trips. This view is in the Bob Marshall Wilderness of Montana.

Fantastic!

Love the flowers in your front garden as well - nice touch ;)

So does the snow ever completely melt or is there a patch or two which makes it through to next winter?

I can only wish and a a great shot and place to be Ralph. I was only looking at a similar shot I have from many years back of my lone tent at the end of a Loch. This is a great way to get out and be in among the outdoor environment, getting photographs. Absolutely stunning.

So the breakfast buffet is just out of shot, right?! ;)

Quite a view Ralph.
The breakfast buffet is just off to the left. Be careful though that first step is a big one! ;)

I suspect all that snow is gone now. The photo was taken in mid July. In some favored spots (deep shade or places where the snow drifts in especially deep) there will be some snow that lasts throughout the summer and into the following winter. There are no glaciers left in the Bob Marshall Wilderness but a few mountains have patches of snow all summer. I Glacier National Park, however, the mountains are bigger and there is more persistent snow.

It's September now and the seasons first snowfall hasn't come yet. That's pretty unusual for us.

Being out in the wilderness with my camera is definitely my favorite thing. Fortunately Montana has so many unique areas to explore.

How's the free wi-fi Ralph? :D
Wi-Fi didn't work too well but when Ron looked at his phone when we cross the top of the mountain in the distance he started getting emails and texts.
