How Expired Is Too Expired?

I've seen some ISO25 medium format B&W for sale, it has been stored in a freezer (apparently) but it expired in 1993!

Is this going to be useless? What happens when B&W goes bad?

It'll be fine I expect. The fog level goes up and so the overall contrast is reduced. I have older film than that knocking about!

thanks Pete that's definitely worth knowing, there's loads of expired film on ebay (although this particular batch is now out of my budget, and it is 46 rolls which is probably more than I need!)

I'm glad you asked this question because I have many rolls of FP4 and HP5 in the freezer. It's only a few years out of date and I was pretty sure it would be fine. I really want a day in London with my film cameras before the end of the winter - I think you have just persuaded me to go for it
