Hugo Hare Here!

"Hugo Hare Here" Is going to be our new award given out to photography related websites that we on RPF think have merit
These websites are to be blogs, ezines, other communities that contain information of interest to photographers of all types!

The idea is that when we give a website an award they put the little hare logo on their site somewhere in plain view but without any description as to what it is or where it leads if clicked ...

We are going to write a clever bit of script that means when someone does click it, it will go to one of the sites that has been given the award. each time it is clicked it goes to a different one of the award winning sites

Hopefully people will be drawn to click it as it is a little bit silly looking and should rouse peoples interest

This means that people can follow the hare around, randomly jumping from site to site!

keep clicking it and it will eventually lead back to this very page to explain to the clicker what it is they have been following

I have offered the first award to iphoneography - the iphone photography and videoography blog

Hopefully they will accept it as i really do think it is an interesting site!

you will notice that (for now at least) Hugo now links there!

I've not had a response from them yet, have just set Hugo to link there as a gesture of good intent ... Its a shame there has to be a first award as thy may feel some of the clout of being given an award is lost in aranging this being set up ... But I really do like thier site, and it's just the sort of place I'd happily be assosiated with - lots of useful info, nice layout etc etc!

This is such a mint idea, I really hope they do accept! I've only recently found their site, I like the layout and info, great recognition for all and very useful for those explorers! Im game for this!

Dan it's a given I dont need to search around the app store with a site like this it's saved as an icon and I'm always the first with awesome apps to impress my mates...... Again well deserved of such a prestigious award

Prestigious ... Heh, I'd like it to become presitigious for certain, although I'm not sure it deserves quite that just yet!

Just sent the chap a message on twitter ... Hopefully he will spot it ... I'd really like this to work and with all us iPhone users here it really makes sence to me that they should be the first recipient of this "prestigious" award

.... Maybe ... just thinking out loud in the hope someone might have a view... we should just make hugo go to forum members blogs ...
I can still make it go to a random one each time (with a bit of work) and it occurs to me that it would be a nice way to get a bit of traffic to blogs belonging to members rather than sending people to other photography related sites?... a way to support the community ...

it does doesnt it ... it now goes to brians photo a day blog ... ill change things around a bit and get the script working
we can have it link to babblesberg if you like? but i would guess you wouldnt want a hare on there?
