Dug out the Epson rd1!
Ive realised something that will please you I'm sure ... I can focus my rf cameras (especially the 1:1 epson) much faster than I can with pretty much any other camera I have (excluding the d3/700)
Id not realised before that I could just trust my first judgement on focus rather than going back and forth a bit like I used to ...
The rd1 has pretty much replaced the x100 as my carry everywhere camera ... The x100 battery has even gone flat!
Just can't bring my self to flog it ... It's annoying me!

I'm much the same and always amazed at how quickly I can focus and compose with a RF. I even shot a load of stuff in low light of people dancing at a party on Saturday (at f1:1.4!). And the focus was more often on than off. I'll post some from the even soon.
