I want one of these ....

wouldn't say no to one myself, if someone's buying...:)

Did you take a look at the pictures on his web site?
Brilliant!

i did yeah, i like a good panorama... have done a few and that would save me having to merge lol

One thing I don't get about scanning cameras ... How do they fair with moving clouds??

Far better than stitching, since the scans are relatively quick. In all my stitched images, moving clouds have never been an issue, since they blend smoothly, having little detail and no hard edges. A car going through the scene is a different case entirely. I have done some shots with the panorama feature of the X100 where I have deliberately panned with a car, with very "interesting" results.

Rather creative things can be done with motion and scanning cameras as illustrated at
Intentional Misuse of Scanning Back Rules

$38,000! :(

Very cool though - will be an iPhone app in a few years for $5 :D :D :D

y'know Chris your probably right lolol, i'm just in a panorama mood :) maybe Peter Lik is rubbing off on me(if you'll pardon the expression :D)

oooo errrr matron :D

There are a few scanning camera apps for the iPhone ...
I have one called slit scan ...
I'm not sure it's quite up to the levels of quality here!

I've seen and played with the effects that can be had, lots of fun
Although nothing quite as pretty as some of those better light examples!
