After I done the shots of the horn carver I had an idea to do a set on typical scottish industries and the obvious one was Harris Tweed (which i am a massive fan of anyway).... To cut a long story short Ian Lawson got there first, and didn't he just.

That is something special isn't it? Quite a long portfolio being 136 pages but all the better for it I think.

it is, the link he made between the landscape and the colouring of the tweed is brilliant! The book is a little pricy for me at £125 but who knows in time

That is impressive Davie - thanks for the link. The relationship between landscape, colours and the tweed is impressive. I think he gets a bit carrie away at time - the horse shots are nice but too many and not that relevant - and some input from an editor would have helped. Even so, an impressive set.

The annoying thing is I wanted to do a whole thing about traditional occupations such as the horn carver, woodworking, harris tweed etc and the harris tweed one is well and truly blown :)

Beautiful land and people, occupation and photographs! Thanks for sharing, Davie.
