after glacier i spent three nights in idaho.

somewhere around sawtooth mountains in idaho.

not ashamed to admit i was a bit hungover when i took this and don't really remember where. it was somewhere in western idaho. no, i wasn't driving.

swan valley, idaho. on the way to tetons in wyoming.

same as above.

atomic city, idaho. the signs, which i didn't take a photo of, said to stay on the road or find yourself waist deep in decades old nuclear waste. the city itself was maybe 6 blocks complete with dirt roads. no 3 headed cows in sight.

What a great set, Beth. I like the monochrome ones especially. In particular the shots of the barn. I'd love to see more of "Atomic City" if you have any you could post.

I literally want to hug you for that first one

The first one is beyond perfect. That said my favorites are the last one and #7. Very jealous. Hope you guys are having a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS- Which lens did you use?

thanks guys.

i don't take many more of atomic city. most of the double wides were of newer construction and had no trespassing signs up. there was a vintage cafe that i didn't take photos of and another place (maybe an old cafe or another auto shop, couldn't tell) that i grabbed a few shots of.

i almost wet myself when i saw it. you have no idea.

the atomic city shots were some of my favorites. i'm back home now and didn't take a computer with me (just a droid tablet) so i'm just now getting around to processing and posting the photos.

#1-3 & 7-9 - 18-55mm
#4-9 - 14mm

overall on the trip i used the 70-200 the most (mostly due to hundreds of moose shots in the tetons) and 35mm.

What a great adventure...and set of photos that prove it Beth.

thanks glenn!

Oh my ...... the first one has just left me speechless..........

Roadtrip!

Wonderful stuff Beth - I like the more muted tones you produce, something I need to work on

Great set Beth and sawtooth a great name. Enjoy this type of scene a lot, with the history embedded. The old shacks depicting hope and solid futures that
that did not materialise, or maybe, it did and they moved out into their larger ranch. The rusty old tiller now replaced by twenty foot wide tillers, towed by tractors the size of houses.

Het, great images. Hungover or not you seem to get some good ones. Love the old service station.
