Critique Welcomed Impending Wipeout

I shot this from Huntington Beach Pier. On either side of me were real surf photographers, with their hi-rez cameras, long lenses and monopods. If they noticed me at all they must have thought how pitiful I looked, with my little plastic Vivitar PN2011 "toy camera." And I suppose they'd be correct. I dare say no surf magazine will be knocking on my door to publish a copy of this image.

Arista EDU 400 film processed in Rodinal.

It is a fine image. You have caught the surfer in the foreground at the right moment, has a great sense of scale, and the light reflecting off the water in the foreground adds to it too.

Dave it was the sparkle of the sunlight off the foreground water that afternoon that drew my attention. The surfers were just ornaments to me at the time. (Though I did purposefully try to catch this one mid-wipeout.) Thanks Dave!
