IR Fern

It seems everyone has gone IR crazy at the moment! I blame Nihat! ;) And by coincidence I have just purchased an IR modified Fuji S3 Pro (along with a Nikkor AF-S 18-70mm ED Zoom, for which the cameras AF has been calibrated) from ebay. I bought it for a specific project at work but brought it home this weekend to have a play. The camera was modified by Lifepixel in the US (LifePixel Digital Infrared Photography IR Conversion, Modification & Scratched Sensor Repair) and has a 720nm pass filter fitted (ie it blocks any light with a wavelength shorter than 720nm from reaching the sensor). Thus it is effectively a monochrome only IR unit and swapping the blue and red colour channels won't give anything other than a slightly steely look to the sky. It will be used in the lab to image a fluorochrome that emits in the IR spectrum when illuminated with blue / UV light but this is what happens when you point it at a fern!
