I had the pleasure to meet up with an old friend at his forge to help his daughter take some photos, as part of setting up these are a couple I took to demonstrate..........I must thanks Steve Cooper this guy can truly move metal.........his work is awesome...............

Very nice Kev, especially the last one. The mane almost seems to flow and I like the contrast between the softness of the OoF flame and the iron.

There is a really nice quality to the light in these that makes them look really polished. Great ironwork as well, I would love to do something like that for a living.

Thanks for the comments guys................I must admit to being rather chuffed with these.

I didn't really have that much time to set up but apart from the composition it was a simple set up of Off Camera Flash set to the right slightly low with a slight bounce,triggers from pop up using CLS setting, had strong natural light from the opens workshops up and over doors far off the the left. Mixed up with a slow shutter speed to let the fire do its stuff in the background.....

I am looking forward to spending more time with Steve.....(The Blacksmith)
