Is it Pagan Poetry?

A secret code carved. But by Lichen.

So you lichen it to a code? Fascinating, isn't it?

Nice shot all round, Pete. Like the sunlight on the window frame, and the overall quietude.

Sometimes I look at an image and I realize I would never have thought to have composed it in the same way that the original photographer did. And I say, I wish I could think of things like that. Very fine image, Pete! In short, I'm likin' the lichen. ;)

Beautiful, Pete. :)

The connection between the stone's iron piece
through a cloud line with the roof line,
perhaps a door's corner stone,
missing its place in the house,
a door on the edge,
and the plants marching as
the army of mother nature
filling the space in between.

Thank you all. And thank you especially Nihat for completing the poem. :) The lines (apart from the bit about Lichen) are taken from Pagan Poetry by Björk. And the pattern in the Lichen(s) is an example of ecology in action with a light coloured Lichen colonies growing into and destroying the darker ones. Or maybe the dark hands of the spirits of Avebury. There was an sense of stillness there. :)

I was drawn to this thread by the Bjork reference. I'm a huge fan of hers, and this concept and photo complement it greatly. Well done!

Wonderful. How is the Monochrome working out for you Pete? Seems to be pretty good to me.

Great poem too Nihat. I can see it now, Pete and Nihat at Convent Garden in leotards dancing and swaying while holding up photographs and reciting poems.

love a bit of red filter Pete - lovely textures

Thanks Chris. Normally I would probably used yellow but with the intense sun that day (and the high base ISO), red it was!

So what is the base ISO then?

Mmmm, that is high - so you pretty much have to have some form of light reducing filter

On the X-Pro1 I keep a 3 stop ND in the camera bag for shooting wide open in daylight

The X100 had one built in - which makes more sense!
