Just An Experiement

I mentioned a while ago that I was experimenting with some ideas and one of those was inspired by Giacometti's sculptures of people that seemed to portray movement even though they were quite obviously static. I took these a while ago but wasn't immediately sure of the results. After coming back to them today I realised that I do indeed like them although I don't consider them to be the final finished pieces.

Very "experimental" as you can see. What I like about them is that you get some idea of the movement and despite them being heavily blurred if you saw the subjects and studied there mannerisms for a while you would immediately identify them.

Oh, I really like them, Paul. Very interesting. I definitely see the Giacometti connection, but they stand apart. Quite alien sci-fi-ish. More, please!

I like them, too, Paul. You say you're not finished with the experiment but for me these images could stay as they are, framed and hung.

Cheers, The last three are supposed to be side by side really so that the sequence culminates in the last jump image. I was a bit lazy in not joining the three images. I set up a white background sheet with a flash head behind it. I then got the kids to walk about and generally muck around while I took some very OOF images. Playing around with the aperture, focus and backlighting levels "wrapped" the light around the subjects in different ways as you can tell by the difference from the different sets of images.
