honestly, im blown away by these!
the stuff that people get up to that you wouldnt expect them to ... its crazy!
So do other people do this?

Cheers Again Guys

Hamish the things that go on behind closed doors hey?

Whether other peeps do it I have no idea other than Chris' friend, (The Capt Scarlet SPV) that is.

The one you have picked out is a combination of four separate images.
1. The Building Ruins and American 101st troops
2 The Panzer II (the smaller one)
3 The Panzer III
4 The Background (the Derelict Barn at Stoulton) Always looking for Dereez Dan!

Each of the first three shots taken against a White Background for ease of extraction in PS, I use the pen tool quite a bit for this; lighting is important as the shadows can easily fall on the wrong side which would make it difficult to work with and make it look crap. Each image is then opened up and placed into layers starting with the background image up to the foreground. I then use a series of layer masks and paint out the areas I want, allows for some fine tuning. Each layer can then receive some Gaussian Blur if required for DOF. The whole is then subjected to adjustment layers for toning.

The one you have selected here has a few faults in it and will be redone in part before I am happy with it.

The building in the foreground with the troops in is scratch built from plans drawn up from photos off t'internet, including all the rubble etc. The poster on the wall together with others are downloads and scaled, then printed and given some rough treatment.

Am considering putting on an exhibition with these and other bit in time, Now the dark nights are back I shall be breaking out the tools and stuff, have some more buildings to put together.

That about covers it I think.

Am really pleased with the feedback from you guys Thanks Again

Ahhhhhhhh That roof top has got cold so I have come home!!

Kev these are brilliant !!!!!!!!!! My passion for all WWII comes from making these. What a great job you have done, and a really interesting idea maybe we could work on something??? I would love to see them for real.

I have a 101st Combat get up and also 2nd armd div think that's what you snapped me in at spetchly.

Hey Thomas great to see you off the roof safe and sound..

Thanks.....:)

I would love to do some work to add to these. I have a Pill box local to me that I need to explore to see if its still accessible etc, it is on the edge of Throckmorton but part of it is still subject to MOD security but it would be great to get some period stuff in there or anywhere that would sit comfortably with the theme..........:)
