the giant white fans you've photographed that are only allowed to turn counter-clockwise. they're not windmills, only the amish and dutch are allowed to have those.
Oh, those fans!

Those fans are there to make the wind blow as far as I can tell - they work pretty well, and when they're turning fast, the wind really howls down the valley - genius idea really ;)
 
Love a bit of decay and distress and shallow DoF. very simple and effective Chris though I'm guessing that's not a good Round Turn and Two half Hitches, looks more like Grannie bent it to me ..;)
