A fairly well photographed subject to the point that they are almost a corny subject matter. However, these are the first I have seen this year. I wanted to try something different other than a standard close up and put them in some kind of context of there surroundings.

It's like a little insight into the little guys journey somehow!
The compo on te first is really nice too!

I agree with Hamish and putting them into context makes the difference to be sure. As I said to Rense, it is rare to see macro photographs with context and these are great examples. Otherwise they become technical records - fine but not as interesting from a creative point of view.
