Lanyon Quoit At Sunrise

Lesley Jones

Otherwise know as Zooey
People at work assume that if I come back with a handful of pretty pictures, then I've had a good holiday. I'm not saying that I wasn't honoured to be standing here with such a stunning view, but the previous day I had come down with a very bad cold and had not only walked around seven miles on Dartmoor, but I didn't get back to the B&B until gone 10.30. I still had to download the images to the laptop, clean my equipment, charge my battery and prepare for the next morning. The alarm went off at 4.00 and to be honest I spent most of the morning throwing up. Driving down very close to Land's End proved interesting as I couldn't stop coughing and I then sat in the dark in a cold car until it started to get light.

I still think it was worth it though :)

Yep. It was worth every bit of the unpleasantness! :)

Well done Lesley. Obviously the whole engagement we have with the world recording something is as attractive as the image itself, in most cases. On this occasion you seemed to have pushed yourself.
I've sat in a car waiting for the sun rise, getting very cold. On one occasion I gave up and drove off, only to realise I had been parked in a bank of fog and the sun was already up.

That's one hell of a picnic table Lesley! ;)

Your dedication shows in your images - wonderful shots that transport the viewer

Picnic table... apparently a man mounted on a horse used to be able to fit under here, but it fell down in a storm around 150 years ago and the locals couldn't put it back in quite the same way :)
