Linner at the Diner

On the way back from NASA Goldstone yesterday, we stopped of at an old-skool diner at the side of the freeway for some linner (Lunch/Dinner). :p

Not exactly packed mid afternoon on a weekday - but the food was ok, and it was worth a shot or 4.

Love those black and whites Chris! Failed to spot the waitress--or the other diner(s) in the background until the second peek. If I'm not mistaken I believe that second B&W isn't completely B&W. Am I right?

Indeed - left a little colour in #2 - it frames everything up nicely :)

these are beautiful to me on so many levels but first of all the tone is bang on...sets the images up beautifully. of course the subject matter is very close to my heart as well

Really really nice, I like the second one most
You have the saturation just right ...
Would just be a smidge better with a news paper readin man in a suit ... But you can't have it all eh ;)

Thanks chaps - I liked the idea of #1, but then shot #2 and liked the vertical format better :)

Hamish, there was only one other guy in the place - and he sat in the corner and ate his food without so much as a word - I think if I'd taken a picture of him, I might have found myself in deliverance territory! :(

Brilliant set Chris, great creative use of DOF.

We have copy versions of them over here, but i bet they not a patch on the real thing like you have :-(

Nifty looking place there. I especially like the second shot!
