I really got lucky with these three considering they are all rescues from different times. They don't have a mean bone in their bodies. They have never fought with each other or any other dog. One time a miniature poodle terrified Stanley so bad he hid in some bushes and wouldn't come out. They aren't real crazy about squirrels, but they love people, children, dogs, cats. Especially kittens, I have another one they found on Thursday. I had to climb another tree at 5 in the morning. The kitten sleeps with them. Hugo is particularly fond of children. When Stanley was younger I used to take him to the children's cancer center with a lady who had two therapy dogs. I just wouldn't have or want a mean dog. If somebody broke in my house they would probably lick the burglar...sigh......
All that said, they are a tad adventurous. Between the three of them I have 5 poisonous snake bites, 10 stitches, a stick lodged in the in the corner of an eye, and 7 yep, count them 7 skunk sprayings. My best estimate is I've spent almost $9000 at various Emergency Vet hospitals. Oh well.
Actually Pete, they, like their chauffeur, are more Stanley Kubrick fans (with Barry Lyndon being a canine/hominid favorite). Admittedly, Hugo has a penchant for the ambiguous/non denominational spiritualism embodied in the films of Terrance Malick. We all love Fellini's 8 1/2 too.
If we are going to do action, we would probably opt for Michael Mann's Heat or Thief.
