Critique Welcomed Lotus on new lens

Sold my cheap 500mm F6.3 reflex and bought a Minolta RF Rokkor 500mm F8 reflex from ebay a week ago and here's couple of shots

Lovely donuts!

It certainly isolates well and produces nice contrast. That second image is lovely and I like the swirls and artefacts in the first. i find the framing a bit too tight on the last one but like the idea of the reflection.

I've always disregarded these mirror lenses. On second thoughts I can see their uses and they can perform very well, far better than I had the impression they do. Excellent Aldous

You should give these lenses a try Julian, my Minolta really worth the money, I got it from Ebay @ usd 220 including shipping

Great images Aldous, especially the second two...No.1 shows one of the perceived draw backs with the mirror lenses, as Pete said, donuts (or doughnoughts!!). The colour rendition is very nice.

Pretty flower. I'm impressed with the image quality. I had a 3rd-party 500mm reflex 40 years ago and wasn't all that impressed with it.
