Snap shot at Venice Beach, California. Was lining up a shot of something else. Glanced beyond the frame and saw her coming. Snapped without being able to line up the shot. Didn't quite get the shot I hoped for but I like it anyway.

Yashica Electro 35 GSN with Arista EDU 400 film set to 800 ISO. Developed in Rodinal 1:50 for 16.5 minutes.

Works though and the movemt is just about right (a tiny touch more woudl have been perfect). I love the relfections highlights in the ripples. Again, go on, nudge that contrast slider up on the scanner (you know you want to!).

A fraction of a step further would have lost the nice shadow of the runner though ...
Maybe framing very slightly to the right would have worked, but I like the position of the tree!
Overall I think it works very well as is!
The lines of path, water, beach, sky sit at a nice angle too!

I like a couple of things

First, her planted foot is pin sharp, and everything else about her is in motion - very cool

Secondly, the ripples in the standing water - giving even more of a feeling of movement

Thirdly - the small UFO just offshore to the right of the palm tree - catching the sunlight

So, you must have been out late in the day, after the rain?
