Ive had this idea to shoot partially through a glass to get a bit of flare ... it didnt work so well when i was messing about (slightly inebriated) in the pub last night but i quite like the effect non the less :)

Oo, i like the effect too!
To me when looking at it, it separates you from the image.. but in a way makes you seem like you're there... watching? Idk if this is making sense lol. Like you're a fly on the wall i guess? haha. anywho, I like them! :)
 
I've heard of beer goggles, but beer glass filters??? :D
 
It's a bit like Brian's flipped lenses! In this case you even have a variable, gradient effect ranging from glass half full to empty (for high key) and glass half empty to empty (for low key)! :) And there's no end of creative colour possibilities from Campari warm-up filters to Blue Curacao as well...

That second shot is quite effective isn't it. I trust these were shot well before 4:00 though!!
