The Malay Lacewing butterfly rarely shows the topside of its wing. I got this image as it was opening its wings. Sadly, this butterfly has a slightly damaged right wing.

I can see the damage to its wing as you mention it, otherwise I would not have known I guess. That though does not take away the fact that this is again beautiful.
