Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, National Arboretum Canberra

An image of great breadth. I really like the framing with the dark foreground and all that sky above the building. It probably would have had a nice presence in B&W as well, but why lose these beautiful colours?

It was a bit of a spur of the moment stop at the Arboretum, but I spent a very pleasant 30 minutes wandering through the stand of Himalayan Cedars. :)

The shot above was actually taken just as I was leaving. I might post a couple more photos soon...

Thanks! The light was very warm that afternoon due to smoke in the air... it made a difference!
I didn't have as long a lens as I would have liked (24-70 on D7100 - equivalent to 36-105mm) so cropped a bit in post. Which meant I could experiment with the composition a bit... I may not have thought of this framing at the time.
