it's not actually HDR in that it wasn't achieved using bracketing, it's more of a lucky by-product of the way i shoot.
the procedure is pretty much how i develop a lot of shots i do in that i take the photo quite dark concentrating on the sky tone more than the foreground .
from there i use highlights and shadows to bring up the foreground to a good balanced look(though it wil be too 'washed out')
next up comes the contrast brush to start on the HDR effect
finally i use the polarize brush to deepen the tones
i know what you mean about the high rises, and it is something i may get round to doing as it would be a simple enough job and Chris it is a standard 14-42 kit lens
The company that pioneered the use of explosives to demolish buildings is called Controlled Demolition. Anyway, I used to work with a guy whose uncle started that business. He'd learned something about explosives during WWII and when he came home after the war, he used some dynamite to remove a stump from a field on his farm. A neighbor soon asked if he could do the same for him on one of his fields and then one thing led to another. Anyway, my coworker's cousins eventually took over the reigns at Controlled Demolition and they have been responsible for bringing buildings down safely in all corners of the world over the last several decades. His uncle and cousins are hard-of-hearing, he told me matter of factly.
