I like the concept...I like this in two separate ways. The upper half and the lower. Separated...they are wonderful. Together...they are too conflicting...imho of course. I really...really...love the top half. I think you latched onto something here.

Glenn I see where you are coming from, know exactly what you mean. Of course this type of photography is as much about accidentals, rather than having choices or options .
I weighed up what you mentioned and stilled liked it enough to post. But I do enjoy images which do not always sit pretty as it were. I am trying to do something a bit different
to what i have been doing Time will tell if I get something worthwhile.
Thanks for the feed back as it all makes for some sort of self enquiring and hopefully dig in geting something to improve upon.

Dope never appealed to me. Made me a bit paranoid that I was losing control; a moment later I'm telling myself I'm fine, and a moment after that I'm paranoid again. And so it went. Never liked it. However, I love that this picture reminds me of how stuff seemed to look. Wonderful colors Julian and a fine image(s). :)

I really like this Julian. I like that you have reinforced the composition by expending the darkness of the right hand side down towards the corner to keep the line flowing. Mainly though, I like the way the foreground has become very abstract while the upper section contains more recognisable elements. The contrast of colours and the use of the saturated tones works very well too and helps with the painting-like feel. Very nice indeed. :)

Thanks Brian, I never got into that scene, for exactly the same reason. I have not even drunk for 20 or so years , as I quite like the natural world as is it and don't wish to alter it randomly. Now I did look a bit odd on the
quay shaking a camera round for sometimes 50 sec's while tourists past by. Then to read on DPR that you have to have image stabilisation to take a photo or it is useless. Also one great thing with long exposures is , it gets rid of
all the people in the shot:)
