So you could say that the picture has soul!

Another fabulous, fishy find! I love these still life images of yours, Julian.
Thank you Pete. They remind me a bit of those paintings with subjects such as butchered carcasses and offal. Getting these is not easy as the box is only there for a minute or so, if that before the ice goes on. So no chance of a tripod which would help. Although today the fisherman did invite me over too photo an iced tub of pilchards, then kindly filled a plastic bag full, to take home :)

I would have called it "fish" I think. I bow to your expertise, Julian. :)

Nice shot, too.
Thanks Brian. Fish is good and of course very normal. We had the MMO ( Marine managment organisation) scientists on the quay for two weeks recording what fish was given away to locals, earlier this year . They stayed in a local hotel and stood around the quay each day. I watched a friend land some fish and he passed me two herrings. They pounced and said they needed to record what was given to me and not going through the normal system, as if skippers takeing a bit of fish home for dinner is not normal. Not a problem I said, except they did not know the name of the fish too record, or any of the fish species in the boxes

Excellent shot, Julian. Don't you just love Sigma? Wonderful colour and detail.
Yes a very adequate camera for all shorts of reasons. I used it this morning at iso 2000 for B+W and the rendering is superb. One problem, I knocked it into manual focus without realising. . Colours from these camera's are very easy to manipulate if needed. The star of course are the lenses. Extremely good. I am certainly glad I took that step a few years ago and got a Merrill or two or three. Wish I'd delved in earlier. Will be at a loss when they stop working. Maybe they last for ever I dont know, I hope so. I'll get a Quattro probably if funds allow.
Thank you for the comments.

My turn now. What was it again I was to say, there are times I am lost for words and this moment is one of them.
Awestruck I guess and envious, of that Merlin chap! I can't remember he was square:rolleyes:
