Dawn over Africa above the clouds, while the world is still asleep down below I am floating above a magical wonderland!

Some thunderstorm activity and rain in the distance, best avoided!

Cloud layers merging, time to leave......

Racing a storm home along with a friend, will we get back in time? Sometimes you have to divert and wait out the storm

oh the pangs of envy!!!
i really like the first one ... although every time i see these images they make me the want to go on holiday ... and then i remember im going to wales on holiday this year ... for 5 days ... great!
not that i have any problem with holidaying in wales ... id just rather be going to south africa!!

the second to last is interesting too ... it looks like night time under the could!

Hi Hamish, thanks!

Yes, it was rather dark under the cloud in the second to last one, it is amazing how you can be flying high in sunshine in the late afternoon and as you decent the sun disappears and it is suddenly dark, can be scary if you miss plan or want to land at a strip without lights.

The big trip is on hold due to paperwork and red tape.....

Hopefully soon Bags have been packed for weeks Still have a visit to Europe (Holland and Germany) coming up later this year, no dates yet but it is to visit some family, busy year!
