Motion Blur Birches

I guess this is mainly for Zooey. It doesn't hold a candle to the other
work posted here but I wanted to show Zooey the stand of birch we
passed close to the Thames when she was showing me around London.
She had trouble getting anything she liked out of the birches and so have
I. With her abilities, she may be able to make something of this.

Come on Zooey...... I just wanted to show you the stand of trees. Thought
if you were ever by there again , you might be able to pull something out of
the scene. Maybe if we had been further back ( without falling in the Thames )
and could have gotten the tops of the trees to get something as good as your
melting trees ??
I do thank you and Rense for introducing me to this style :)
Ron

Ooooo I think that's my favorite one of these so far!!
Very nice indeed matey!
What have you done to it to make it look like that?

Thanks Hamish. Really appreciate it .
When Zooey was good enough to come all the
way up to London to show me around, we passed a stand of
trees ( Birches ? ) which I was drawn to. She said that she
had tried the shot before but never got anything she liked.
I tried and tried to make something of the images but failed
miserably. When I saw Zooey's "Melting Trees" , I thought I
would try it with "our" stand of trees . Zooey saw something
there or she wouldn't have taken a shot and I did the same.
I can't exactly remember the steps I used but it went something
like this. Punched up a bit in Camera Raw. Into CS5 for the motion
blur filter. Then to Color Efex Pro for Tonal Contrast and the Darken/Lighten Center.
Then again in CEP , the bicolor filter to change the ground. Then in
CS5 , selective sharpening of the center and lightening of portions
of the ground to try for a little depth.... Can't remember everything but
that's close. I didn't really mean to make something as nice as Zooey's
or Rense's work. Just wanted to try to get something out of that stubborn
set of trees :)
Thanks again for the kind words :)
Ron

That's proper art that!

Square crop Pete? That's not like you! :D

Thanks Chris. Honest. Just wanted to show Zooey that stand of trees
that we had had problems getting anything out of :)

I see what you mean Pete. Did it in 4x4 ratio and 8x10 and it is better.
To repeat the query from my other post, would like to know how the eye
is getting along . How is the acuity?
Ron

Thanks for asking Ron. Acuity in the left eye is about 50% on a good day mostly due to floaters I think (looking quickly up then down or left then right I get a second of much, much clearer vision before the occluded area returns) although the pupil is still dilated as well. Pressure is normal and the IgM for Toxoplasma is now 6.8 (IgG is > 400). The last check showed a lot of inflammation still. I'll know more on the 30th when I see the specialist again
