My first car, well almost.

What was your first car? This was the first car I owned way back in 1969. I have scanned from a print and then uploaded with just a touch of saturation. It was a 1098cc tranverse engine/gearbox, twin carbs and went really well for its day. Top speed was approx 105 mph. The price back then - about £650 with insurance of about £55-60, quite a lot as my weekly wage was around £15 at that time. Not very reliable as the gearbox broke on two occasions, but that could have been my enthusiastic driving. :D Well in my header I said almost as previously I had learned to drive in a Morris Minor which was sold as soon as the test was passed.

I still dont have a full licence... I have had a few cars
My first was a frankly awesome ford fiesta mkii in bright red!
Went like turd of a shovel, everything rattled and it had the unmistakable smell of old ford...

I might well see if I can dig out a photo... I'm bound to have one somewhere!

Nice looking ride John!

Hamish - I had a 80s 1.3L Escort as my first car - complete POS

Looked a lot like this one

I bolted on a rubber spoiler, some rally lamps and clip on alloy look wheel trims - nice!

My first car was a 850cc Mk1 Mini, but i don't have any photos of that. But this was my first real car...... Mazda RX3 Coupe, 12a rotary. I just wish i knew then what i know now and had the gear i have now back then. Wish i had a big warehouse back then to, parts for the old Mazdas are ridiculously priced today, when i think about all the things me and my friends threw out.
