MY FRIEND THE PIGEON

Pigeons our way tend to get shot. Even the nice white ones. For some reason this friendly pigeon liked me and followed me about for a while. I said thank you and said that I would make him/her famous by putting it's photo on RPF  ( I might add I don't shoot pigeons)

Oh, that could well be true. But I'm not sure if Julian knows about DSPs. They seemed to be everywhere a while back. Now they're going covert. This one must have broke ranks.

I liked that photo as you took it Julian - that's all I'm sayin' :D

He eventually worked out the lens cap one - probably feedback from one of the DSPs. :)

He worked out to keep the lens cap on, not from DSP's but from DPR.

That is a fine pigeon if ever I saw one (and I have seen loads). Very healthy too, looks well fed to me. Nice and crisp and and when you consider the darkish background and the white pigeon well balance exposure too.

Swans are another one that is sooo difficult. Today's cameras it seems best to spot focus on the white and bring up the dark's. The pigeons all had a pinky muddy backside. Me thinks there is another pigeon who has access to some cling film.:D

Dastardly & Muttley would very much liked to stop this pigeon ;)

Some lenses do better (i think), i had vivitar (komine) 28mm f2.8 on EP1 it did swans quite well.

Chris the secret is to take the lens cap off, press that button which is usually on the top right.

Now you tell me!!! Lens cap huh. Pete that would explain why no matter how hard I tried I couldn't recover anything from the shadows...

That is a beautiful photo Julian. I would say it's perfect.
