Love the compositions on the cat close ups - great idea to get in close and get part of the cat, and not the whole thing.

I like #4 a lot - have you thought about converting to a black and white image on the computer?

I'm thinking the lighting and the detail in the cat's fur/whiskers, might look cool in B&W

All are good but the 1st one's my fav--I like the compo and the sepia tone,...but mostly the timing is perfect. (I can almost hear the roar of a lion coming out of that pussycat.) Nicely done, Oscar.

At the moment i dont have photoshop is there any way of converting to black and white other than photoshop as i dont have any photo editing software if there isnt a way i should get photoshop at the same time i get my DSLR in about 2 weeks.



Here are a few more pictures but there is a story to them in the summer a couple of years ago our reservoir in trentabank went completely dry and you could see all the water pumps and you could walk along the old bed of the reservoir the first time there was hardly any water infact there was nearly none but i didnt have a camera so i couldnt take it at its best but the next day it rained a slight bit but not much so i ran got my camera and got my dad to drive me there it was quite a bit deeper so we snook down the little path and snook past the rangers that were guarding it although some rangers were happy for us to go down for a few minuites but we had our luch there and i took a load of shots i think these are the best but i will put a few in an album called the old road.

The old reservoir bed used to be an old road and there we found very old cans of berr that dated to the early 1900 and old horse shoes from when the old road was used by horse and cart i hope you like the shots and i think that some might look better in black and white and some maybe looking a bit more old like it was a photo from the 1900

I'm not sure what that second shot is of, but I like it!!

Photoshop is quite expensive!
Photoshop elements is more affordable
Photoshop Lightroom is much more geared up to the budding photographer ... As always, it is my recommendation!
You would be best to find out how much whoever is buying you your camera is willing to spend on software before looking at making a decision!

I am not quite sure what to do at the moment because I either get photoshop now and my dslr for my birthday or the other way round I have got 2 or 3 compact cameras but I don't know which to get now could somebody
Help

Are you sure you want to get photoshop?

The reason I ask is that it is a lot more expensive than Lightroom, it does not do photo management (help you arrange your photo albums) as far as I know, and it has a steeper learning curve (at least for me personally).

Perhaps consider DSLR + Lightroom?

Photoshop is very expensive ... Lightroom is on sale until the 8th on the adobe website!
Would be worth pointing that out to whoever is buying!

Also, if you are a student, you can pick up a license at educational price, I think it was £60 or something, a steal!

Assuming he goes to school
