New To Film Photography

My creative background is in music/ audio production and, for the last 10 years, short film/video. I have been using digital cameras. I caught the film bug recently and purchased a couple of film cameras: a Leicaflex SL and a Mamiya R67 ProS. I have only shot test shots so far on both using Fuji Acros 100 B&W on the 35mm and Kodak Tri-X 4oo on the medium-format.

I found this forum while searching for postings about the Mamiya R67 ProS. There is a lot of great work posted here, so it is with mild trepidation that I post a couple of my first shots with each camera. All critiques are welcome.

Cheers,

Steven

Hi Steven, and Welcome to the Forum!

What a great post to introduce yourself with :) These are beautifully exposed shots - you are up and running fast!

I have an RB67 Pro SD with three lenses, 90mm, 140mm and 180mm - but have recently decided to sell. I found it such a hassle trying to lug all that around, and with a heavy tripod. But I do love the quality of shots you can get from it - as evidenced from your images. And I love b&w photography.

You will find other medium-format shooters here.

Thank you for your encouragement. I am used to lugging a lot of equipment in film production. I hope I don't tire of the Mamiya and heavy tripod - it does make for more "studied" shots, which is OK, but makes things more formal. That's why I aslo have the Leicaflex SL for more flexibility. We will see how it goes.

Welcome to the forum Steven..!!!

Great to see proper film photography, I've just got the bug recently myself and dusted off both the Mamiya C330S & Lubitel 166B (thanks again Beth) TLR's and have started to shoot film after a very long film absence.

Looking forward to YOUR valid photographic input and images.

Best wishes;
