New Toy

Congrats Brian - looking forward to seeing it, and it's pics!

I have an OM1n and 50mm lens in the 'magic closet' waiting for it's time to appear and get used - supposed to be this year, but it's nearly November already!

Thanks, Chris. (You still have two months and a wee bit left.)

Question, although the shutter speed selection is on the mount, and is not far off from the layout of the OM10.... Why is there such a difference in value? I understand that it must be better, I picked up an OM-4 ti down in an antiques shop in Amesbury, but certainly couldn't afford it as I had already purchased the 35 1.8 for the Nik. It felt nice, presumably worked fine, but doesn't seem much different than my OM10, more of a cross between a Pentax ME super (top) and an OM10 body..
I love my OM10 but how does it differ from the rest?

Cheers (am I stealing your thread now Brian?)

Nice.... So worth the extra then?? :)
how about the OM1n, is that a good choice then?

I think the OM-1N lacks the the auto exposure that the OM-2 came equipped with. (Aperture priority.) Also, I think there is something different about the metering in the OM-2. "Off the Film" metering I believe it is called. Not sure how it works yet, but I think the OM2 has it and the OM1 doesn't. Also, I think the OM-1 can be fully used in manual mode without a battery. The OM-2, however, needs a battery even for manual shooting. These differences are my understanding based on a quick review of various web postings yesterday.
