so I already showed this snap on another thread. wide open, handheld, which is no easy feat considering that there is really nowhere to hold it, the tripod mount is very low profile unlike some of the larger/heavier lenses. then it did precede the 2.8 version, which despite the crucifying weight is far better to handhold.
I've been looking for one of these for absolutely ages and their price has been creeping up. so overjoyed to find it really.
above snap is a crop of about one third of the frame.
apart from the obvious uses of wildlife and sport, neither of which I do much of (though would like to do more if sufficiently remunerated!), I think this is an excellent choice for everyday shooting around the city. not exactly 'street photography' (I know of some disciples who call for crucifixion if any lens longer than a 50 is used!), but certainly pictures capturing the vitality and overbearing congestion, of the metropolis.
