No,...That's Not My Leg

I had some expired Ektachrome 100 ASA slide film in 120 format so I put it into my Holga 120 WPC (Wide Pinhole Camera) and took some shots at the pier in Huntington Beach last weekend. The WPC gives you six 6x12cm negatives.

It was a bright sunny day, and I held the shutter open for approximately 8 seconds on each exposure. I didn't have any mechanical means of timing the exposures so I just estimated by counting to 8. I didn't have a tripod with me so on the first two below I used the concreteabutmentpods provided by the city, and on the third image I used a concretebenchpod, also provided by the city.

The images were a touch overexposed so I adjusted them in PS. (First time for me using a post processing program.) I used "Curves."

The small amphitheater at the pier sometimes hosts band music but most often the area is just occupied by people having a seat in the sun or people watching. Last weekend, however, a gathering of drummers met there and they were pounding out a hypnotic beat with their bongos, their snares, their whatevers. Here are a couple of shots.

No,...That's Not My Leg (Don't know who it belongs to.)

Kinda Wish She Hadn't Stood There (But it is what it is.)

Well, these look different, which is refreshing. I don't mind the lady in the second. In fact the second is my favourite. Love the shadows of the trees. Thanks for uploading yet more interesting shots.

I'm in shock Brian - you used PP ?????? :D :D :D

The random leg is very odd - were you on top of it's owner? ;)

I really like the zoom effect in #3, great feeling of movement, and the railing gives great perspective.

Yes, Chris. PP! I may be a Luddite, but as Luddites go I'm quite forward-thinking and rather open-minded. ;)

As to the owner of the leg,... the answer to your question is yes. I was actually sitting upon his head. But since I am not the largest of chaps (only 5'8", about 172 lbs) I do not think he felt me perched up there, for he did not budge. ;)

Thanks for the comment about #3. I am actually a little partial to that one also.

I read my phone in the shower in the mornings ... Yeah, everyone tells me it's odd... ...
anyway, the hazard of this is of course dropping the phone
Its happened once when I woke up a bit merry from the night before, and it just nearly happened when I read

slippery slope mate ... ;)

And yeah, I like them... I like this camera!

I agree with them. ;)

I turned around and was surprised to find my dog in the shower with me once,...blinking her wee eyes to protect them from the spray. (It wasn't Sadie, she dislikes water; it was Fiona [sadly, now passed on], who surprised me another time by swimming UNDER water in the pool.)

slippery slope mate ...
Yes, I sense it Hamish. :(

I'm with Rob here Brian and No 2 is my favourite. And I like the lady in the shot. I think she adds to the composition and adds to the prespective. I like the person-blur in No 3 also.

Now, as for the leg, I'm glad to hear you were only sitting on top of it's rightful owner. I was worried at first because I can't imagine where you would find the matching one. We have second hand shops here in the UK as you know, but that wouldn't be much use had my first thought proved to be true.
