NUT

Mmmmmm, I smell that lovely new camera smell :D

LOL... Are you nuts, Jim?! ;)

Yes :)

Thanks for all the comments, I found it extremely amusing that the teachers' union would go for it as their acronym. Surely, I am not only one sensing the irony (especially considering the "monkey" comment Pete made earlier)? :D

And yes, this was shot using a new camera. I can't really tell the difference in the IQ for the kind of photography I do. If it wasn't for the smaller icons on the LCD and date info blocking the focus distance scale when the camera is switched on, I could hardly notice I was using a different camera. Can anyone here?

The usability makes the biggest difference to me, I find that I can shoot in 1/500s in situations where I couldn't before. I generally don't use AF except in night time, so I guess I will find out if the supposedly improved AF makes any difference to me in winter.

I have used both. I now use the S version. The AF is much faster. I started to say significantly, but I guess that's an subjective judgement. So....subjectively I find it much better. :D I also prefer the look of the X Trans files. They are a tad more colorful, but I like the color. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hestitate to sell the X100 and buy the S version. I like it more than any other camera I have ever owned.

Love the photo too Jim.

Thanks Steve.

I agree the S is a much nicer camera. I hope I have the ability to convert this technical "niceness" into improvement of my photography! :)
