As one is getting older and closing in on departure day, some tend to want to be left alone. That's how I interpreted this image. But we people are so different. Thanks for your comments.

A nice portrait indeed. I especially like the relationship between the stripes on his shirt and the back of the chair. I might be tempted to lose a touch of the foreground though.
