Old Ghosts...

The old abandoned remains of an airfield in 'Bomber County' or Lincolnshire. The county gets it's pet name from the sheer number of RAF bomber stations there during WW2. Out of around 84 airfields there are now five and two of them are not flying fields.

Viewing your photos ... I could hear the thunder of Hurricane and Lancaster engines roaring down the runway. Ground crews silently watch the planes turn into tiny dots in the overcast sky, each crew member giving up a pray for their safe return.

Another old airfield moment. Acaster Malbis is close to York in the UK. Nice place to take photos.
