Old Church

I went out with Dave (the instructor from my photography class) to scout some sites for next week. He's very fond of old churches and cemeteries. This church was built in 1882. German Lutheran. In this part of Texas all the settlers are either of German or Czech descent. These churches will be out in the middle of nowhere but they always have sizable congregations. They also usually have amazing festivals in the fall with incredible food (lots of sausage) and beer.

We did take a couple of shots of this one but decided it will probably be better later in the day. These are the only two digital shots I took. We were trying to line it up. Dave really liked the X100 though. I was kind of surprised.

Great shot. I like the composition, the colours work well, and the shadows are great in the mono shot. I particularly like the way that the road draws you into the picture. Nice one :)

Love the color version - another one for the e-book

X-100 is very appealing - saw a guy in a bar with one this evening - I got excited seeing one in the wild!

A really nice uncluttered scene. The colour version works best for me with this one.
