Old lens....and not so new camera.

Dan Down - The Steampunk Womble
I bought myself an olympus OM 50mm f1.8 for a tenner and as it doesnt fit directly on my e600, spent another 15 notes on an adaptor, bringing the total cost 25 quid for a f1.8 lens is not bad at all..... Of course the down falls are that everything is manual, but I can live with that, but it is more difficult than I thought...... Especially portraiture photography and getting the prime focal point (eye(s)) and then the subject is not still.. But besides all the down falls im pretty chuffed with it. Here are some of the results..... Hope you like :)

Thanks for looking :)

I do like mate! Very nice indeed!
The focus is spot on!
Maybe clone or crop out the light coloured thing at the top of the first one!

Another reason to go nikon here mate! Toms camera (for Eg) allows him to use lenses dating back to 1977 ... With a bit of modding to the lens, back to 1959! You even get fully functional aperture priority! ;)

fast 50mm lenses are great for baby shots - you get all that lovely DOF effect, and people go ahhhhhh a lot (which is the whole point)

Nice one - can't imagine how you keep up with the focusing and composition with a moving target like that ;)

Hamish, I really considered taking that light out of the picture on at the top of the first picture, sort of distracts a little bit, but I just posted the shot as it was, no editing or usual vignetting like I seem to addict to. Lol. And the second shot was just monochromed, as for getting a nikon..... Well, i remember not so long back a post about what your camera says about you (not sure who posted it) but if you read the section on Olympus, well, yeah, I'm that type of guy.... For now!! Hahaha! Can't betray my squeeking Oly, I'm gonna drive her to the grave! Lol.

Chris, thanks for the comment. It is extremely difficult to get that focusing right your not wrong there, but it's also very exciting when you do nail the shot and very satisfying! Lol :)
